ND-filters (neutrale dichtheid) filters omvatten absorberende en reflecterende filters, die gebruikt worden om lasers en andere optische signalen te dempen. Absorptieve filters minimaliseren terugreflecties, die verder kunnen worden verminderd door een antireflectiecoating aan het filter toe te voegen. Reflectiefilters zijn verkrijgbaar met een BK7 of UV Fused Silica substraat.
